Advisor 8 Workflow Features
We discuss Advisor 8 Workflow accounting features and project management capabilities in detail below. Click through each heading to learn more about a feature.
The QuickBooks Online integration of Advisor 8 Workflow uses your QuickBooks Online or Intuit login credentials to access the Workflow app. Once logged in, you’ll see the Workflow dashboard. Unlike other third-party software wherein you first need to go to QuickBooks Online settings, there’s no additional step needed to integrate Workflow into QuickBooks Online.
The image below shows the Workflow dashboard.
Dashboard
You can track jobs and tasks in Workflow and their status. Browse through the images below to see how this feature works.
The client dashboard will import all clients automatically from your QuickBooks Online account, so you don’t have to worry about importing them manually. The image below shows the dashboard with no clients listed yet because the QuickBooks Online account used for illustration purposes has no existing clients.
Client Dashboard
Creating clients within Workflow will also create clients in QuickBooks Online, so remember to always have admin access allowed in QuickBooks Online settings. Once you have all clients on Workflow, you can navigate to Billing, Files, and Proposals to check information relating to a specific client using a drop-down menu.
Another great feature in Workflow is its document management system. You can group documents in folders for better file organization. To upload documents, click Upload Files and a floating window will appear.
Document Management
Workflow also comes with a time tracker that enables users to track time spent per task precisely. Users can check their time entries under My Time Cards and the time cards of others under Staff Time Cards. If you click Time, you can enter time manually in case you forgot to log it using the built-in timer.
Time Card Entries
Another way to track time is through the timer. You can access the timer by clicking on the clock icon at the top right corner beside the QuickBooks Online logo.
In our expert opinion, it would’ve been better if the timer could be accessed directly through the task card—it would be easier for users to start and stop the timer when starting and completing a task. In this setup, it’s possible that some users will forget to stop the timer. Another possible improvement would be stopping the timer automatically once the task has been marked as completed.
Advisor 8 Workflow Ease of Use
Advisor 8 Workflow is easy to use because of its intuitive interface. It doesn’t have a steep learning curve, so you can easily get used to the software after exploring it. Since it uses QuickBooks Online login credentials, it makes logging in easier and more convenient for QuickBooks Online users.
Workflow is also available for QuickBooks Online Accountant, making it very suitable for accounting firms to manage their operations.
